Play Grounds is a series of site-specific performances that places classical music within Los Angeles' historic athletic and recreational spaces. Abandoned pools, iconic basketball and tennis courts, and neighborhood boxing clubs become temporary stages for live music.
Each location becomes both setting and score. Musicians are carefully staged in dialogue with the site's architecture, surfaces, and geometry, with their placement and movement shaping both the visual and acoustic experience. Audiences gather informally as each performance unfolds as an ephemeral composition, choreographed as much for the eye as for the ear.
